Most e-commerce projects fail at the detail level. The homepage looks polished, the product pages are acceptable, but the checkout flow is confusing, the cart does not behave as expected on mobile, and the product search returns results nobody uses. We design and build e-commerce sites from category to checkout, and we test the checkout flow on real devices before delivery.
E-commerce design is not a homepage with a shop button. It is a system: product discovery, individual product presentation, cart behaviour, checkout flow, order confirmation, and the email trail that follows. Each component has its own design requirements and its own typical failure mode.
For product discovery, we design filtering and search systems appropriate to the catalogue size. For product pages, we structure the visual hierarchy around the purchase decision — what does the customer need to see to decide whether to add to cart. For checkout, we reduce friction at every step: fewer form fields, clearer progress indicators, fewer reasons to abandon.
We work primarily with WooCommerce for WordPress-based shops and with custom PHP builds for shops that need specific functionality that off-the-shelf platforms cannot provide. For most Italian SMEs with catalogues of up to 200 products, WooCommerce with custom theming is the right choice: familiar for staff to manage, flexible for future development, and well-supported.
Payment integration covers Stripe and PayPal as standard. Bank transfer, cash on delivery, and other payment methods can be added. The checkout complies with Italian consumer protection requirements and includes the required pre-contract information display.
